Welcome to the 8th Annual 21st Century Business Woman Conference to be held on Wednesday, June 20th from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This year, we have expanded the program to provide a great line up of speakers, covering business and career development topics. We also added the first annual Joann Regan Business Woman Leadership Awards to recognize business women who continue the inspiration of this conference, and of its founder, Joann Regan, former Women’s Business Center Director.
This is my second conference as Executive Director of the West Brighton Community LDC and we have more to offer this year with a variety of sessions to choose from in both the morning and afternoon. Session A: Strategic Blueprint for Your Business with Rob Meyers and Nina Flores:
Robert Myers is the Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending for Northfield Bank and supports the expansion of the bank’s commercial mortgage and business loan portfolio in Staten Island. Prior to his working at Northfield Bank, Robert led the financing initiative for the Staten Island office of the New York City Department of Small Business Services.
Nina Flores is the Business Development Specialist at the West Brighton Community Local Development Corporation/Business Outreach Center – Staten Island. Nina has worked in the not for profit economic development community for the past 10 years. Prior to working at WBCLDC, Nina worked for the Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation as the Assistant Manager for Business Services. She assisted various entrepreneurs and small business owners in Brooklyn and is now helping the entrepreneurs and small business owners on Staten Island. At the WBCLDC she also assists Women and Minorities businesses become certified to sell to the city, the only S.I. organization designated by NYC City Council.

Lois Ingram to speak at 21st Century Business Woman Conference of West Brighton LDC and Business Outreach Center Network.
Ingram & Company is a brand strategy and implementation firm in business since 1986.Ms. Lois Ingram started Ingram & Company to address the distinctive requirements of services businesses. Her clients have included leaders of Fortune 100 companies as well as medium sized and growing businesses and non-profits. The firm’s clients include Citibank’s Retail and Private Banks, RR Donnelley, JPMorgan Private Bank, Wyndham Worldwide, United Airlines, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, and many others. Ms. Ingram speaks frequently to audiences in business, strategy, and marketing fields at a wide array of companies and category conferences throughout the U.S., Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Japan, and Europe. She is currently writing a book about brands “in a world where everything matters”—and the role of brands in society. Before founding Ingram & Company, Ms. Ingram worked at Citibank, Ogilvy & Mather, and in the publishing industry. She was born and raised in Montana.

Moira Boccellari manages strategy development and oversees strategic marketing planning and implementation for Ingram & Company clients. During her career, Moira served as CMO for various institutions including Citigroup’s US Private Bank and Americana Financial. She is an expert in Brand Experience, strategic marketing, segmentation, product and service innovation, and business development. Moira has spent 28 years developing strategies and helping organizations implement programs using the full array of traditional marketing disciplines. She has also managed database and web-based development groups as well as a business development call center.

Owner of Honey Drop Day Care, Fabiola Santos, former t.v. Exec to speak at 21st Century Business Woman Conference
Fabiola Santos-Gaerlan is the director of Honeydew Drop Day care center. She co-owns Honeydew with her husband Dave. After 15 years in the television industry Fabiola realized that the highlight of her career was when she traveled all over the country interviewing children for a show. She has three children (Gabriel, 20, Casielle, 17 and Julian, 9) and has been raising them in a creative and intentional way. She has experienced the difficulties of raising children and having a successful career. From this struggle came Honeydew’s drop-off service. She is currently pursuing her second Masters in Early Childhood Education.

Amy De Giulio founder of Sugar Flower Shop to speak at 21st Century Business Woman Conference, Staten Island, NY
Amy De Giulio founded Sugar Flower Cake Shop on the principle that fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients make the best tasting, most beautiful wedding cakes in NYC. Every cake is made from scratch. Before moving to NYC, the petite blond lived upstate, where she cultivated a giant garden containing everything from acorn squash to raspberry bushes to orchard fruit. De Giulio herself knows how to drive a tractor—albeit in high heels. De Giulio has demonstrated her sugar flowers in the test kitchens of both Martha Stewart and Macy’s. Her wedding and other special occasion cakes have appeared on the STYLE network, TV Land, and in magazines and other media.
Natalie Licini, co-owner and Instructor of Photography Studio, Je Revele, she incorporates community service with her successful photography business, such as forming Chaata a family support network and raising funds for the Literacy partnership. She is a board member of Just be Me!, a youth empowerment , not for profit organization and sponsors photography sessions for cancer survivors. Formerly an Assistant V.P. at Merrill Lynch and V.P. of Fund Administration for Landmark Banyan Real Estate, an equity group, and a current board member.

Fran Reali is co-owner and broker of Safari Realty/Better Homes & Garden, with her husband Fran of 42 years, a mother of 4 sons, grandmother of 11 and a realtor for 30 years. Designations include Certified Residential Specialist, Senior Real Estate Specialist and Accredited Buyer Representative as well as a Certified National real estate trainer. Fran has supported and helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities and in 2008 was awarded the Staten Island Advance’s Women of Achievement Award. Her family is extended to the realtor community and the thousands of buyers and sellers she has helped realize the American dream. She is currently- Co-chair of WBCLDC’s Victory Blvd BID Steering Committee.

Our First Annual Awards program for the Joann Regan Business Woman Awards will be presented during the Business Mixer. Enjoy refreshments and make new business contacts from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Staaten’s dining lounge. Honorees include Natalie Licin ( also a panelist during the afternoon session) and Julie DeStefano of Northfield Bank.
Julie DeStefano, is a Vice President and Branch Manager at the New Dorp Branch of Northfield Bank. Prior to joining Northfield, Ms. DeStefano was a Vice President and Community Banking Manager for Staten Island Bank & Trust. She has almost thirty years banking experience. Ms. DeStefano is a strong supporter of charitable organizations on Staten Island and has generously given her time to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run, the Veteran’s Day Annual Tunnel to Towers National Golf Tournament, Co-Chair of Brendan’s Day, the Annual March of Dimes Walk-A-Thon, the Annual March of Dimes Celebrity Golf Outing, the American Cancer Society Annual Patricia Del Rey Golf Outing, Staten Island Heart Golf Outing, Staten Island Heart Annual Chef’s Extravaganza. She also serves as a Board Member and Vice President of the West Brighton Local Development Corporation.
